Not shying away from "marching to the beat of their own drum," Cordcalling's April, 2017 full-length album release, "We are Still," is a bold throwback to traditional recording, mixing, and Mastering techniques. “We are Still” stands out amidst a digitally saturated market, reclaiming the natural, warm atmosphere of sound art that stands the test of time. The LP has caught the interest of Canadian media. Mark Anthony Brennan, of the Canadian Music Blog, "Ride the Tempo," remarks that Cordcalling "draw in everything from British Invasion to prog rock, but the overall effect is cohesive and powerful." John Sharpe at SCENE Magazine appraises the musical arrangements on “We are Still” as “hav[ing] evolved since [Cordcalling’s] last release ‘Obsessed by the Light’”; he describes their newest album’s sound as the “same punk/rock/grunge sound with a lot more polish.“ The album has been featured on "Beyond Mainstream" on K106.3 FM - Great Classics and Best New Rock and has been topping Canadian college radio charts.
